New statistics of the Ukrainian economy during the war.

  • Full-scale war and support of the army cost the state almost 2 trillion hryvnias per year. This is more than the revenue part of the peacetime budget, which reached 1.3 trillion hryvnias. The Ukrainian economy is supported by foreign aid, loans and grants.
  • Last year, the Ukrainian economy shrank by 29.2%. The NBU predicts that GDP will grow by 2.9% in 2023.
  • The total amount of damage to Ukraine’s infrastructure from the war exceeded $150 billion, according to the KSE Institute. The largest share is the loss of the housing fund — $55.9 billion.
  • Loss of business assets is estimated at $11.4 billion. Since the beginning of the war, at least 426 large and medium-sized private enterprises and state-owned companies have been damaged or destroyed.
