Growth of the Ukrainian economy.

Institute for Economic Leadership

How much will Ukraine’s GDP grow in 2023?

The World Bank significantly improved the Ukrainian GDP growth forecast this year. If in June we were predicted to grow by 1.5%, then the latest forecast speaks of 3.5%.

The Bank also improved the forecast for Ukraine for 2024 to 4.0% (previously it was 3.5%). As for 2025, the forecast remained the same as before – 6.5%.

Among the factors that will contribute to GDP growth by the end of 2024, the World Bank names: a more stable electricity supply, increased government spending, large foreign aid, increased consumer and business confidence, and a higher than previously expected harvest.

We will remind that in 2022, as a result of the full-scale invasion of Russia, the GDP of Ukraine fell by 30%. According to KSE estimates, the total amount of direct documented damage to our infrastructure has already reached $151 billion (at replacement cost).
