Direct losses due to the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP have already reached 2 billion dollars. Which sectors are most affected?

950 million dollars. — almost half of all damages caused by a terrorist attack — is due to losses of the housing stock and housing and communal services. This amount is mainly caused by losses on the left bank of the Kherson region. According to a preliminary estimate, 20,000-30,000 houses in 49 settlements were damaged in the occupied Kherson region.

Almost a third of all losses, 624 million dollars, were caused to the Ukrainian energy industry. More than 90% of the losses are caused by the destruction of the Kakhovskaya HPP. The needs for the construction of a new HPP of similar capacity will reach about 1 billion dollars.

More than 300 million dollars. damage to the transport infrastructure is reaching. In total, more than 290 km of roads were affected by the flood.

As for the agricultural sector, losses are estimated at 25.7 million dollars, and almost all of this amount is caused by the death of fish. Insignificant direct damage is due to the fact that the territories are under constant shelling, so the land was not actively used.

However, the explosion of the Kakhovskaya HPP stopped the water supply, which is critically necessary for crop and vegetable growing, so the indirect damage of the explosion may be much higher than 2 billion dollars.
