Business complains about abuse of state services

Complaints are not decreasing: business complains about the abuse of state bodies.

Institute for Economic Leadership

The Council of the Business Ombudsman published data on business complaints in the II quarter of 2023. In total, the Council received 361 complaints against 328 appeals in the first quarter of 2023 and 305 in the fourth quarter of 2022.

Traditionally, business complains most about the abuse of tax officials – this is 70% of all appeals. As noted in the Council, the systemic blocking of tax invoices remains an urgent problem for business. The number of blocking cases was 21% in the II quarter (for comparison — 34% in the I quarter).

Also, during April-June, entrepreneurs complained about procedural abuses and inactivity of the National Police and prosecutor’s offices.

As the business ombudsman notes: state representatives continue to use criminal proceedings as a tool of pressure on business.
